Carol H. Kutz creates her illustrations in a variety of styles, ranging from realistic architechural renderings to whimsical elves and fairies. Coloured pencils are her medium of choice, but she is equally proficient with paintbrushes and pens.

Working with the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife for five years, Carol has illustrated many types of animals in their natural habitats.

"But my true love is children," she states. "Having four of my own has kept me in touch with that childlike wonder and their fresh way of viewing the world around them. Children don't just 'look at the pictures,' they place themselves into the scene. I enjoy the challenge of telling a story with my illustration and also evoking an emotional response."
